Success Story: Girls Inc.
Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, providing more than 140,000 girls across the U.S. and Canada with life-changing experiences and solutions to the unique challenges girls face. The Girls Inc. Experience consists of people, an environment, and programming that, together, empower girls to succeed.
Girls Inc. has prioritized learning as a key strategy to build its organizational capability, provide comprehensive development opportunities for its staff, boards, and volunteers and facilitate access to knowledge and learning through innovative learning technologies and approaches.
A thorough analysis coupled with Ani’s unique design session approach, Girls Inc. has redefined its learning vision and roadmap with both short and long-term objectives to create a learning culture that promotes development and improves performance. A competency-based approach was developed along with a framework for connecting the right content to the right audiences at Girls Inc. The recommendations provided the necessary learning blueprint (culture, governance, strategy, organization, content, measurement and architecture) to move their learning to the next level.
To provide greater access to learning by all its audiences and allow for the unique localization of 85 Affiliates, Ani has led the effort to define requirements, evaluate LMS vendors and select and implement the most suited vendor for Girls Inc.
The implementation will involve working both with the vendor, IT and the learning organization to manage all integrations and set up of the LMS and design a unique rollout strategy to go live by end of December 2017.
Success Story: GIRL SCOUTS OF THE USA
Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure and success. There are 1.8 million girls and 800,000 adults who believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ to change the world.
Girl Scouts of the USA embarked on two major transformational projects to improve Girl and Adult Volunteer experience across its 112 Councils as well as test out the concept of selling Girl Scout cookies digitally (Digital Cookie). Girl Scouts was implementing a new operating model that would align all Councils around a standardized and consistent approach to market to, recruit, train and support Girls and Volunteers. They were implementing Salesforce to replace multiple inconsistent tools and processes.
In addition, the National organization needed to build it’s learning and development capability to support the training needs both at National and to drive consistency in program delivery across the Councils.
As a consultant, Ani served as the interim head of learning at Girls Scouts of the USA and, with that role, was able to evaluate the current capabilities against the future strategic needs of the organization. Ani brought in a team of consultants and partner vendors to successfully accomplish the following:
Designed a comprehensive solution to support the implementation and rollout of the new operating model and Salesforce across the Councils. Integrated the solution into the business process and with a detailed change management plan created an approach that increased Council adoption of the new tools and processes faster and successfully.
Designed and implemented a training program to bring Council staff just-in-time training during their implementation of Salesforce and the model. Developed a train-the-trainer approach and used external trainers to travel across the US to deliver various sessions for 1.5 years.
Designed and implemented a 2-step approach for onboarding Councils onto the new model and ensuring readiness for implementation: A peer-to-peer site visit and a an in person immersion session at Girls Scouts Macy center in NY. This allowed for minimal issues during each Council’s go live implementations and ensured readiness.
Redesigned and facilitated sessions to design business processes and toolkits for Councils. Based on pilots, documented and re-designed over 20 business processes to support the new operating model. Helped guide clients through organizational decisions and steps to get more efficiency and clarity.
Created a change management and communication plan to pilot and roll out Digital Cookie.
Worked with a training developer to design e-Learning demos to integrate with the platform.
Managed the day-to-day function of Learning and Development until a new recommendation was made on the future learning role and function.
